October 30, 2012 - 2:36 am Thank Dr.Teo for sharing some of your ingsihts about lung cancer: “And it happens, only 90% of the time, in Asian ladies who never smoked in their life.” I was puzzled too that my late mother -never smoke in her life -would be inflicted with lung cancer. Prof.John Wong , Director of National University Cancer Institute, Singapore : “It has been suggested that the biology of common cancers, such as breast and lung, may be different between Asians and Caucasians .There is a strong possibility that pharmacogenetics and thus -kinetics and -dynamics may be different between Asians and Caucasians, but this has not been studied in a systematic way.”:.There is a link between lung cancer and amongst those Caucasian ladies who smoke .So the advice for Oriental ladies : if you smoke you are adding fire .“The courage of life is often less dramatic spectacle than the courage of final moment”.His last words of compassion and wisdom have undoubtedly inspired and touched many lives.
