Obituary of Richard Radcliffe

Richard "Dick" Rowland Radcliffe, 88, of Mercerville passed away peacefully at home on Friday March 6, 2015. Born in Philadelphia, PA, Mr. Radcliffe was an honorably discharged World War II veteran of the United States Army. In his earlier years, Richard worked as a chief engineer for several foundries and later on retired from Squibb Pharmaceutical in 1987 after 20 years of service. Richard was a loving husband and father and a good friend to many. He was considered a tinkering man, always designing and building all sorts of contraptions for his family, friends and neighbors. Richard was a longtime member of the Mercer County and West Windsor flying clubs. He often invited family and friends to see him fly his planes. He will be remembered and missed by many. Predeceased by his parents, Charles D. and Esther (Wertz) Radcliffe, and his wife of 59 years, Helen (Lee) Radcliffe, he is survived by his son, James Radcliffe, and daughter-in-law, Susan Radcliffe of Yardville; his daughter, Margaret Laux, and son-in-law, Fred Laux, of Hamilton; his grandson, Matthew Laux, and two granddaughters, Alicia Laux and Kaitlyn Radcliffe; and two great-grandsons, Austin and Gaibrial. Bridge of Love There is a bridge of memory. From earth to heaven above. It keeps you always near us, it's called the bridge of love. May you always walk in sunshine and God's love around you flow, for happiness you gave us, no one will ever know. It broke our hearts to lose you, but you did not go alone, for part of us went with you. The day God called you home.
