Dolores Blodgett

Obituary of Dolores Blodgett

Dolores Jean Blodgett, 82, of Frenchtown, NJ, formerly Dolores Miller, passed away at home on April 6, 2015 under the loving care of her daughters Debra McDougall and Diane Blodgett. Dolores was born in Somerville, NJ, the daughter of Madge and Harold Miller. She graduated from Somerville High School and went to Muhlenberg Nursing School becoming an RN. After living for many years in Branchburg, NJ she moved to Martinsburg, WVa where she resided for 38 years, returning to NJ to live with her daughters in August, 2014. She is survived by her two daughters, a step-daughter, Pamela Blodgett of Maine, three grandchildren Chelsea, Elyssa and Stephanie Broido, a son-in-law Peter McDougall of Florida and her first husband, Joseph Blodgett of North Carolina. A son Dixon Blodgett and her second husband Curtis Blodgett preceded her in death. Dolores loved the outdoors. An outdoor memorial service will be held to celebrate her life this summer in WVa. Interment will be private and held at the gravesite of her mother and father in Somerville, NJ. When I Must Leave You When I must leave you for a little while please do not grieve and shed wild tears and hug your sorrow to you through the years but start out bravely with a gallant smile; and for my sake and in my name live on and do all things the same, feed not your loneliness on empty days, but fill each waking hour in useful ways, reach out your hand in comfort and in cheer and I in turn will comfort you and hold you near; and never, never be afraid to die, for I am waiting for you in the sky!
